Why Buy New vs. Used?

If you're looking for your next vehicle, there are several important questions you must answer. The first is what type of vehicle do you want? Once you figure that out, you must then ask: should I buy it new or used? Obviously, if you fall in love with a brand-new vehicle right off the bat, you may be leaning in that direction. New

The obvious advantage to new cars is that they're brand spanking new. Buyers figure that with new cars they won't have to worry about repairs or issues of any kind for a while. Plus, when you buy a new car you can be sure that you're getting the very latest and best in efficiency, technology, and safety. However, these cars will, of course, be the pricier option of the two, and their value depreciates the moment you drive them off the lot. However, for many people knowing that they have something in perfect condition exactly the way they like it is worth the extra cost.

 

Used

Used cars are, of course, less expensive and that's what drives many buyers to take this route. While you can't have the same exact certainty of the unflawed, perfect condition and performance of a new car, you can use tools like Carfax and AutoCheck to get vehicle history reports to get a good idea of a used car's condition. Another promising upside is that in recent years cars have been built so well that used cars are often in pretty good condition anyway. Today's cars are built to last, so even when you buy something several years old you can still feel confident that it's going to serve you well for a long while.
